Introduction - What Makes a Prophetic Church Healthy?

A prophetic church is not healthy merely because prophetic words are frequent, dramatic, or apparently accurate. Health is broader. It includes what the church believes about Scripture, how leaders use authority, how vulnerable people are treated, how mistakes are repaired, how money and platforms are handled, how new ministers are trained, and whether the whole culture produces mature disciples of Jesus. Five commitments organize this book: biblical order, accountable leadership, pastoral care, spiritual discernment, and lasting growth. These commitments are not administrative add-ons. They are expressions of love. Order helps people know what to expect. Accountability keeps power answerable. Pastoral care protects people from being reduced to prophetic “targets.” Discernment honors both the Spirit and the truth. Lasting growth ensures that prophetic moments lead into discipleship rather than spiritual dependency. Healthy prophetic ministry therefore asks a larger question than, “Was the word accurate?” It asks, “Was Christ honored? Was Scripture obeyed?
