The Beautiful Bride

Preface The Church of God is Christ's own Bride, and He is making her beautiful. This devotional invites you to join that work every day of 2027, for the whole year, in your own heart, your home, your school, your workplace and your local church. The Word of God is the washing, the clothing and the building material. Ephesians 5:26-27 says Christ cleanses His Church "with the washing of water by the word," so that He may present her to Himself "a glorious church." That glory is not reserved for heaven. It begins in the believer who meditates on the Word, speaks it, and acts on it today. Each day you will find a title, a key scripture, a teaching for adults and youths, a Prophetic Declaration, further study, and a 1-year and a 2-year Bible reading plan. Read it in the morning, speak the declaration aloud, and carry the message into your day. You are not an observer of the Church's beauty. You are part of it. Go through this year knowing that you are being made radiant, and that others will see Christ in you. This is an independent devotional written in the spirit of the daily Word-based devotional tradition. It is not an official publication of any church or ministry. Scripture quotations are from the King James Version (public domain). By Dr. Chris Gilbert, Ph.D. & Dr. (Mrs.) Mercy Gilbert, Ph.D.
