Introduction: The Ministry of Staying
The New Testament repeatedly presents Christian care as enduring presence. Believers bear one another's burdens, visit the sick, weep with those who weep, encourage the fainthearted, and refuse to abandon the vulnerable. These commands are not suspended when a healing service ends. They become more important precisely because the emotional intensity of the service has passed.
The ministry of staying asks different questions from the ministry of the moment. It asks whether the person feels safe. It asks what was actually experienced. It asks what the doctor has said, what treatment continues, what the family needs, and whether disappointment has created spiritual pain. It asks whether a testimony is accurate and consented. It asks whether a child or vulnerable adult needs additional protection. It asks what ordinary discipleship now requires.
